This is my current distribution, and it is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen.
Its main disadvantage is the constant building and the cpu cycles wasted. But this its main advantage also! Who else may claim that his system is as unique as his/her fingerprint? I can 
This is not just a poser moto. It is the heart of everything! How many times haven’t you tried to upgrade your distro from one version to another and the rpm databases failed? How many times did your mysql failed during a package manager decided upgrade? Well no more with this distro. Everything works as they ought to, though you may have to compile something every once and while
It Just Rocks
Αν και παράτησα ελαφρώς τα εγκόσμια (και υποχρεώσεις προς τρίτους) για να στηθεί ένα μέρος από το mesh των υπηρεσιών του pwmn.net, παρόλα αυτά δεν μπορώ παρά να χαίρομαι για αυτά που φτιάξαμε
Αλλά ας τα πάρουμε με την σειρά.
Είναι αλήθεια πως είχαμε υποσχεθεί/ξεκινήσει πολύ καιρό να στήνουμε την ομάδα των web υπηρεσιών, αλλά λόγω ατυχών συγκυριών για μεγάλο διάστημα (πάνω από 2 εβδομάδες) είχε μείναι το project νεκρό. Μέχρι που άρχισαν οι πρώτες φωνές διαμαρτυρίας άλλες γραπτές (πχ εδώ) και άλλες προφορίκες επι προσωπικού.
Μιας και το moto μας είναι “Μιλάτε σας ακούμε“, δεν θα μπορούσαμε παρά να ικανοποιήσουμε τα ζητούμενα. Έτσι ξεκινήσαμε (o Itmy έστησε το joomla) εγώ το migration στο forum (παράλληλα και ανεξάρτητα με τον tweety - ο ένας χάλαγε την βάση του άλλου :-P).Συνεχισαμε στήνοντας διάφορα minor πράγματα skins κτλ προσπαθώντας να καλύψουμε την αρχική προδιαγραφή (νομίζω την έχω γράψει κάπου στο κεντρικό blog), αλλά ακόμα είμαστε αρκετά πίσω.
Ελπίζουμε να γίνουν όλα σύντομα.
Αυτά που μένουν είναι ακόλουθα
- τα online network statistics (κάτι σαν network weathermap) για outages usage profile κτλ. (grigoris has done his part)
- user account unification
- phpBB3 integration με το joomla και το wordpress
- Ενιαία διαχείριση και τελικά υλοποίηση του LDAP σαν μηχανισμός ενοποίησης του πλέγματος των υπηρεσιών
- Με το που ενοποιηθούν οι υπηρεσίες θα προστεθούν value added (αλλά ήσσονος σημασίας) υπηρεσίες: eg: radio station, web to sms gw via VoIPbuster etc

Patras power grid went down for over 4 hours!
It is surprising for a large city like patras for its power grid to fail. So far no official explanation is filed though many unofficial reports from citizens stated that power grid was failing with some order. In particular the power down started from the southeast patras area for a short period (around 30 minutes) to the historical patras center(blackout duration was over 3 and a half hours) and to the Rion area (northeast Patras area). At the Patras center chaos took place at the streets since traffic lights went off and no policemen showed up to control the traffic.
Concerning the wifi network; many nodes went down especially those with small UPS. kOlga (pwmn.net_kolga) went down after 1 hour of usage others lasted longer others failed at once. One node though lasted and fought bravely against the power failure sabotage to the PWMN network. The pwmn.net_solar also known as pwmn.net_kotetsi due to its electrical power independence still is working.
No reports have showed up in the local news [1] [2] [3] [4] regarding the incident. Lets hope it won’t happen again. The public electric company called in short DEH should be more responsible towards its customers and at least file a report even 5 hours after the incident. The disrespect to the customer should NOT continue and will NOT be tolerated…
